| International Ballet Theatre presents the 23rd Anniversary performance of The Nutcracker December 6-23 at The Meydenbauer TheatreCelebrate the “Season of Cheer” in Bellevue by sharing in an Eastside families’ holiday tradition and take everyone to see International Ballet Theatre’s performance of The Nutcracker at the Meydenbauer Theatre.Choreographed by Ballet Master, Vera Altunina, IBT’s interpretation of The Nutcracker Ballet is packed full of its original European flavor, exquisite hand-made costumes and the anticipated theatrical pageantry everyone should expect! Music by composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, of course Every Weekend in December! The Nutcracker Ballet’s huge cast of characters is appealing to audiences of all ages; this production features a cast of 80 talented young people, experienced professional dancers and visual performance artists who bring the story of The Nutcracker to life. Children will laugh with joy at the comedic antics of Uncle Drosselmeyer, and everyone will cheer for the Nutcracker as he battles with the Mouse King, and Clara will dream of her handsome prince and share flavorful treats from around the world, each represented by dancers and music from variety of cultures. Set to the soulful beat of Latin rhythm by Emerald City’s favourite award-winning band “Son Los Que Son”, with a decorated cast of circus artists and ballroom dancers led by Angela Kim (formerly leading character at Cirque Du Soleil, Disney on Ice and Art on Ice), this production is full of delightful surprises, innovative awe-inspiring acts, all wrapped up in heartfelt friendships we share.
